After a desire to chronicle the ongoing gentrification of a neighbourhood she grew up in, Sharine endeavoured on creating her first short, Tallawah Abroad: Remembering Little Jamaica. After being selected to be screen at various film festivals around the world, the film later received a 2021 Canadian Screen Award for ‘Best Direction in a Documentary Series’. Since, Sharine has been exploring production design and intends to bring a cultural language to screens that amplify a nuanced relationship between ways of knowing and living and ensuring the set embodies that element.

Sharine executes select screen-based projects through ocean & moonlight.
